Making A House A Home

If your house could do with a bit of a makeover, instead of making life hard for yourself and completely redecorating, why not simply get rid of that old thinning rug, and worn out bed linen?

It only takes something simple to transform a room, you’d be surprised. Recently I bought a gorgeous black silk duvet set, and it’s amazing how many friends commented on it, saying how lovely it looked! It really gives a focus to the room, and makes it look very luxurious. Why not take a leaf out of my book and look for some bed linen in your chosen style? You never know, you could just find the perfect one.

I’ve had a white sheepskin rug for quite a long time now, and I’m considering buying a new rug for my bedroom. Although I do love it, it has been in the same place for quite a while and takes a bit of pampering to make it look fluffy and white again! I’m sure I will change it soon, because there are plenty of great offers online and in the shops for cheap rugs at the moment, so what is stopping you? You could get a lovely rug to compliment your living area, and keep your room nice and cosy.

How To Buy a Fresh New Duvet for the Summer

With summer here and temperatures rising, it’s time to cool the bedroom down with lighter, brighter colours.  Just by giving the walls a fresh lick of paint can dramatically change the appearance of the room.

You don’t have to spend a fortune on accessorising the room but just by adding a few new accessories will make it feel like a whole new room.  Choose from a new throw or bedspread to maybe some new photo frames and vases.  Maybe a nice picture or canvas on the wall in a contrasting colour would look also look good.

Many people change their bedroom every season which is known as “seasonal decorating”.  In the summer it is suggested that you use light and airy interiors and fresh colours and in the winter use darker colours and fluffy throws to give the room a much warmer and cosy feel.  With seasonal decorating you can rotate all your accessories too so there is no need to keep buying new things every time you decorate.

When choosing a new duvet take into account the filling type with most of the fillings being either natural or synthetic.  Natural duvet fillings include duck down, goose down and feather and down.  Synthetic fillings are mainly polyester hollow fibre or microfiber with non-allergenic varieties also available.

Choose a top quality natural filled duvet and it could last as long as 30 years compared to a synthetic one which is more likely to last around 10 years.

When choosing your new bedding and duvets, have a look on the internet for the best place to buy duvets at some great prices too.
